Spray foam insulation is versatile and can be used to insulate various areas of your home, helping to retain warmth and reduce energy costs.
Spray foam insulation could reduce your annual energy costs. The air-tight seal helps keep conditioned air inside the structure to reduce heat loss. As a result, you’ll spend less on heating in winter and make overall savings. An insulated home provides a more attractive choice for buyers, if you plan on selling in the future. Savings start as soon as the insulation is applied.
Once the spray foam is applied, you’ll be able to enjoy increased levels of comfort. Insulation eradicates drafts, and reduces cold and hot spots throughout the home by closing any gaps present. The result is an even temperature throughout the property. If you live in a noisy area, you will be able to enjoy reduced sound levels thanks to the spray foam seal.
Many illnesses, like asthma and allergies, are often caused by airborne pollutants such as dust, dirt, carbon monoxide and many more. By choosing spray foam insulation, your home will be sealed from a wide range of particles in the air. Many customers notice a positive difference in their health after installation.
The protective features include a reduction in the accumulation of moisture, lessening the chance of mould appearing. Plus, the insulation helps deter pests from coming into your foam. A solid layer of insulation helps seal potential weak points, making it more difficult for insects and rodents to enter.
Extra insulation is often added to the ground, rather than roof line. The result is a reduced storage area, as boards no longer fit after the installation. Spray foam can be applied to the roof line, increasing storage, height and practicality and letting you retain your storage and loft space.
Spray foam insulation contributes to overall structural stability, depending on the thickness and application of the material on installation. Plus, all installations are carried out by Lapolla & AirTight licensed installers and come with manufacturer lifetime limited warranty*.

Spray foam insulation expands up to 100 times its original size to fill every crack and corner of your home for superior thermal insulation and air sealing compared to fibreglass which cannot fill all the spaces and gaps, that results in enough air leakage every day.
Spray foam insulation lasts the lifetime of your home and comes with a 25-year manufacturers warranty, whereas fibreglass needs an upgrade every 5 – 10 years.
Spray foams air sealing qualities help reduce the amount of dust, allergens and pollutants entering your home, in comparison to fibreglass which allows allergens and pollutants to enter your home, these can trigger allergies as well as respiratory issues.
Lapolla spray foam insulation contains no harmful chemicals, whereas most fibreglass contains formaldehyde and may emit formaldehyde fumes into your home.
Absolutely not! Our open celled foam is breathable, when applied to any surface it allows any moisture present to dry out through evaporation, this is important as timber and masonry surfaces need to breathe to ensure that no damp or rot problems are caused. Whereas a lot of the horror stories come from polyurethane closed cell foam, which is more suitable when moisture breathe-ability is not a requirement such as on metal. However, if your timbers are already damp or have some form of rot or woodworm they should be treated and dried first.
Lapolla insulation does not have food or organic value; therefore it isn’t a suitable environment for pests and bacteria. Lapolla is a superior insulation system against mould, with an excellent protection factor compared to fibreglass and cellulose. Rodents and pests will stay away from it as well.
Open cell spray foam insulation is a soft breathable low density (Approximately 100mm thick) insulation prominently used when timber is involved and allows timbers to breathe, ideal for lofts, underfloor, walls, crawlspaces, and commercial however it can also be used on non-breathable surfaces such as metal.
Where as closed-cell spray foam insulation is a rigid medium density (Approximately 50mm thick) insulation ideal for continuous insulation solutions and prominently used for metal, ships, containers, marines, shipping containers, industrial, and basements however it can also be used in properties as it adds wall racking strength, and structural integrity to the building.
The foam expands 100 times in 4-12 seconds after being applied. With proper ventilation, you can use the room 24 hours or less after installing. As it is a water blown product, there will be no unusual smells remained after installation. The majority of homeowners installs can be completed within a day, however bigger projects such as commercial installs can take longer.
